Next time I tell you someone from Texas should not be president of the United States, please pay atten

About This Quote

When Andrew Jackson was elected President of the United States, he was thought to be “crazy.” He was probably the only president ever to have his portrait in a mental ward. He seemed to be completely devoid of any sense of propriety, being famous for being drunk on a regular basis and having everyone from the President of the United States to his own wife fearing for their lives at his hand. However, he was also famous for being a masterful statesman. A true master of politics. In his time, there were no rules for how candidates had to run for office.

It was all up to the voters and the candidates had no idea what they were going to get. Jackson learned how to survive in this political environment by being a master at manipulating your opponents and controlling your own media. He was a master at exploiting every situation and making it work in his favor. In reality, Jackson was truly insane.

He thrived on chaos and liked nothing more than to see people around him killed or otherwise destroyed by doing horrible things. In an attempt at winning votes he would pull back from an attack only to launch it again later on when it would be more beneficial for him politically. But while Jackson may have been an insane man, he did not let that stop him from being a successful one.
